H-Town Beatdown

Photography by Semetra Samuel – Friday, June 20, 2014 – Houston Style Magazine was on the scene for the H-Town Beatdown. BBVA Compass Stadium held the first concert there and it did not disappoint. With artists like Future, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole on one stage, how could you miss this show? My favorites were J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar because I listen to them the most, but everyone who performed fed off the crowd’s energy. Shout out to Houston’s new radio station 93.7 The Beat for putting on anRead More

After missing several of Ledisi’s shows in Houston due to travel or lack of funds, I was finally able to see her perform at Bayou Music Center. Thanks to my girl Berry for the connect all the way from NYC. Opening for Ledisi was up & coming art Shaliek hailing from Brooklyn, NY. It was his first time performing in Houston and the crowd showed Shaliek so much love. He has an amazing voice and stage presence. Ryan’s Grad Session

Location: Main Street, Downtown Houston Seems like yesterday this dude was a few months old and now he’s a graduate of Lamar High School. The photo session was taken on and around Main Street downtown. There are quite a few old buildings in the area and vintage storefronts that I like. Congrats Ryan and best wishes and blessings to you on your new journey to Stephen F. Austin University in the Fall.  Read More
